Affiliate Marketing Tips – Become a Representative for Anti-Aging Skin Care Products

March 14th, 2010 No comments

Being a representative for anti-aging skin care products can be profitable. You must decide which company to represent, and there are several factors to consider in this decision. The steps to getting involved are not complicated, but as for any employment, you should interview a representative of the company you’re considering joining. Get to know the company policies and pay structure to see if the company is the right one for you.

Instructions

  1. Research the company’s products. Are they in line with your beliefs and needs? Decide if natural products are what you will use and be comfortable selling.
  2. Review the payment structure. They range from matrix structures to cells and legs. They can be confusing. Some structures allow you to begin earning immediately, while others require performance levels before earning.
A matrix begins with you, then either two to five members are placed beneath you and so on down a given number of levels. Cells and legs are fairly similar, with two people under you and each side developing separately. These are the two most commonly used payment structures.
  3. Talk with the representative under whom you will sign up. Interview her to see if this is going to be a good fit and if you will receive enough support during your training.
  4. Talk money. How much must you invest to get started? As of 2009, some companies are charging $10 to $300 to become a representative.
  5. Once you have decided on a program that fits not only your budget, but your needs in skin care, sign the contract. In some cases, you will receive your kit immediately. In others, it will be shipped to you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Read the fine print. If anything is unclear to you, ask questions. Get all the information you can about training and up line support. As an alternative, some skin care organizations offer affiliate programs in which you can use their banners to advertise on your site.
  • Becoming a representative may mean bothering your family and friends to purchase from you. As much as they may love you, they may begin to shy away.

Affiliate Marketing Tips – Building a Hosting Service

March 13th, 2010 No comments

The continuing rapid growth of the Internet has created a new booming business industry for Web hosting services. Although creating your own hosting service may seem intimidating, it is very easy and lucrative to build your own Web hosting company through reseller hosting plans offered by larger hosting sites. With website templates that you can customize and with the ability to offer hosting packages and support under your own brand, you can quickly build a hosting service with just a basic amount of technical knowledge.

Instructions

  1. Go to the Hostgator website. On the navigation bar at the top of the site, click “Reseller Hosting.”
  2. Scroll down the page and view the variety of different hosting packages that are available. Select the one that best suits your business purposes and goals. Click the “Order Now” button of the plan you have chosen.
  3. If you already have a domain name for your hosting service, select the “I will use My Existing Domain and update My Nameservers only” option. Hostgator also provides the option of purchasing a domain name directly from them for $15 a year. Once you have made your selection, click the “Next” button.
  4. On the Order Wizard page, double check all of your information and enter any coupon codes you may have. Then click “Calculate Totals.”
  5. After you check to make sure your payment totals are correct, enter your personal information and your payment method to place your order. Once your order is placed, you will immediately be able to access your account and create and publish your custom hosting service site using one of the website template provided with your package.
  6. Once your site is published, publicize your hosting service site by spreading the word via social media sites such as Twitter or Delicious.

Tips & Warnings

  • A powerful way of building backlinks to your hosting service site is to create a forum signature that links to your website. Join and participate in specific web business forums such as Sitepoint and Digital Point. Your website will rank better in search engines, and you will have free targeted advertisement towards a specialized audience that frequently needs hosting services.Create an affiliate program for your site. Many large hosting services have affiliate programs that encourage bloggers and other website publishers to publicize their services in exchange for receiving a percentage of compensation for every new customer they bring in. This would be an easy and effective way to spread news about your services throughout the Internet.

Affiliate Marketing Tips – How to Make Money Offline Using the Internet

February 22nd, 2010 No comments

Creating a website with focused keywords and targeted ads will create an income stream that will work for you even when you are offline. Research several key phrases to determine which ones will be most searched for and therefore the most profitable and create a website that will work even when you aren’t.

Instructions

  1. Research keywords and key phrases. Determine which keywords and key phrases will be most searched for and most profitable for your website. You can use a paid service like wordtracker.com or find one of the similar services offered for free. Do some test searches using your potential keywords and see how relevant the top search results are. If the top search results are fairly general, then you may want to try a more specific key word or phrase (see Resources below).
  2. Purchase a domain name. Domain names ending in .com are easiest for readers to remember, but .net .org and .us may have a larger variety to choose from. Create a domain name that gives Web readers a clear idea what they will find on your website. If possible, include one of your keywords in your domain name.
  3. Create a websit. Once you have a domain name, you need to create a basic site structure. If you are using a content management system such as Joomla, you can easily add content without knowing much HTML. If you use a site building program, you may have a bit more control over the elements on the website and static links. There are many free and paid templates available that you can customize to fit your needs. You can always hire a Web designer down the road when your site is able to pay for upgrades with ad revenue.
  4. Add content. Content is the backbone of your website and is what will drive your visitors to it. There are several options for adding content, depending on your experience and the time you want to invest. Writing content yourself is always the cheapest and allows you to create exactly the content that you want. Creating your own content is the most time consuming, but you are guaranteed that your content does not appear anywhere else online and contains your researched keywords. There are several services that offer free content in exchange for including the authors byline and possibly a link to their own website. This allows you to add a large amount of content quickly but the content is not usually unique to your website, which could hurt your site in search engine rankings. Sites like http://ezinearticles.com/ have a large variety of articles to choose from, allowing you to build your site almost instantly. If you want to invest a bit of money into your site you can hire writers to write content for your website. This allows you to specify exactly what you want in each article but costs quite a bit of money upfront. If you have a large marketing budget, this method can help you launch your website quickly but for smaller websites it is often not realistic. Consider offering a revenue-sharing program where you split your ad revenue with writers who want to contribute to your site.
  5. Monetize your site. You can earn money from your website by signing up for services such as Google Adsense, which will allow you to place their ad boxes on your website and earn money from ad impressions and ad clicks. Using a third party service will prevent you from having to sell ad space yourself and allow you to display targeted ads related to your keywords on your site. ProjectWonderful.com is another options for selling ad space. They work on a bidding system and allow users to bid the amount that they are willing to spend on your ad space. The ad goes to the highest bidder and is paid on a daily basis. Affiliate programs can be found for nearly any type of product out there. Search for affiliate programs that are relevant to your site and add affiliate banners and links to your website (see Resources below).
  6. Market your site. Add your site to all of the major search engines and add it to relevant website directories and listings. Consider offering a link exchange program where you will add links to your link page in exchange for a link to your site being placed on another website. The more you market your website and build up the traffic, the more money you will make from ad revenue.
  7. Log off and keep earning money. Once your site is established, you will continue to earn money even when you are offline. It is a good idea to occasionally add new content to keep your site current and fresh. Any work you do to market your site and build traffic will only increase your income. You can also repeat these steps with new keywords and a new domain name to increase your income.

Affiliate Marketing Tips – How to Choose a Graduate School

February 18th, 2010 No comments

Choosing a graduate school is a daunting task, but with the right research and investigation, you can narrow it down to a few top choices.

Instructions

  1. Visit your college’s career and placement office and read graduate school guidebooks.
  2. Think about the kind of program you want: Do you prefer education that is more theoretical or practical? How large an emphasis on research do you desire? Do you want a flexible or structured curriculum?
  3. Talk to faculty in your field of interest and ask them to recommend strong programs. If you have close relationships with your professors, they might be able to better suggest programs that are good fits for you.
  4. Consider whom you want to work with. The professors you work with in graduate school make a big difference, so research their backgrounds and publications.
  5. Research the school’s reputation. Look for information about what alumni are now doing – job placement statistics, fields of entry. Is there a high bias toward a certain field or specialty?
  6. Think about where you want to work after graduation. Some schools might be recognized more, or have better alumni networks, in certain areas than in others.
  7. Decide what you can afford. Get information about internships, teaching assistantships, loans and grants.
  8. Consider the school’s location and size. Do you prefer a big city or a small town? Think about recreational opportunities. If you have a spouse, consider his or her needs.
  9. Pick some programs that really interest you and request informational and application materials from their admissions offices and the appropriate academic departments.
  10. Apply to a range of schools. Pick a few long shots, a few solid choices and a few safeties. It is reasonable to apply to 6 to 12 schools.
  11. Visit the campuses and talk to students after applying. Assess the facilities.

Tips & Warnings

  • You certainly can call the professors at your top choices and discuss the programs with them (which might also make them more likely to recommend that you be accepted into the program).
  • Study hard for your standardized tests, such as the GRE, LSAT and MCAT. Many schools, especially law and medical schools, pay close attention to such scores.
  • If you don’t think your record is good enough for you to get into the Ph.D. program or medical school of your choice, consider taking some extra courses to boost your record or getting a master’s degree first.

Affiliate Marketing Tips – How to choose the right direct selling opportunity for you

February 9th, 2010 No comments

So…you want to make extra money, but you want to make your own hours…..hmmmm.

I know – direct sales (or party plans) might be for you!

How do you choose which opportunity is right for you?

This article will help you decide which business is for you.

Instructions

  1. First, you have to decide if you have the enthusiasm, and the “want” for making extra money, the willingness to advertise and market your business, and the determination to make it work.

Sometimes it is not friends and family who help you start – sometimes you have to reach out to strangers. Can you do that if necessary?

Can you get up and talk in front of people?
  2. Do you have the support of the people behind you? Your spouse – or significant other, children, friends, and family? Are they going to understand if you cannot always be there for them if you need to do a party/show/class?
  3. Do you have budget constraints? Sometimes that can limit your decision making process. If your budget leaves you with options you do not really like – do NOT proceed. Make sure you get what you want.
  4. Now – it is time for you to decide what you like the best. You need to pick a product, or line of products to sell that you can personally get behind and support 100%.
  5. The best place to start is by looking up the Direct Selling Association. They have a member directory that has every direct selling company that prescribes to the DSA’s code of ethics.
  6. Are you into crafts, scrap booking, tea or coffee, wine, jewelry, food, books, games, home decor, toys….? There are many categories to choose from. Find one that is right up your alley.
  7. Take a look at a few you like. Now for the questions. Start with the starter questions: How much does it cost to get started? Is it within your budget? Does this include catalogs and customer order forms to start?
  8. Money questions – your bottom line: What is your profit? When do you get paid? How do you get paid? Do YOU have to pay for the hostess gift, the shipping, or is there a cost for the company to process your order? How much will it cost to order more catalogs, order forms, etc?
  9. Now for the inside questions – a look at your potential customer’s point of view: How much do the products cost? Is it a realistic price? Could someone easily afford it? If the prices are a little on the high side – can you explain it by the lifetime guaranty or the quality of the item?

Would YOU buy it if you were at a party/class/show?
  10. Keep repeating the above steps until you have a product line that you want to start with. Research what you can about the company, the founder, the years in business, etc. Try attending a party/class/show and get experience with the items up close.
  11. Think about the different ways to advertise and market your business. Can you market or advertise your business on line? Do you have friends or relatives that would start you off with a party or two? Can you attend a craft show or business expo and put out a fishbowl where people can drop in their information for you to contact later?
  12. Before taking that final step and signing on….do you have to have a quota? In other words, do you have to sell to so many people? Do you have to sell so much by a certain time?

If you have quotas, are you prepared to meet them?
  13. Make sure you sign up with someone you can work with! If you and your upline do not get along, find someone with whom you do get along. Your upline is supposed to be your first point of contact and support. Tell them what your business goals are.
  14. Have fun – learn all you can – meet new people – make that extra money and good luck with your new business!!!

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to attend a few parties/classes/shows to see how different companies present their products.
  • Pretend that it is you up there demonstrating the product. Could you do as good as the presenter…or would you be better?
  • Not all companies want you to sell on Amazon or eBay. If you get caught doing it, you may be kicked out of your new business.
  • Do NOT invest more than you can afford. Most legitimate companies charge $300 (or less) on the average for a starter kit.
