1. Sign Up for the WCP.
   
   The eHow Writer’s Compensation Program allows you to earn money from the eHow articles you write. Advertisers pay for the ads you see on the eHow article pages. When readers click on the ads on your article page, you earn money.
2. Use Keywords and SEO.
   
   For advertisers to find your article, you’ll need to use keywords in your article that they are looking for. Many articles are available on eHow addressing how to use keywords and SEO (search engine optimization). Check the Resources section below for a list of a few excellent articles to get you started.
3. Write High Quality Articles.
   
   When you write well-written articles full of useful content, others will be more likely to link your article to their website or blog or to simply rate and/or comment on your article.
   
   Each time your article “changes,” that is, when it gets a comment or rating, that improves its chances of being seen in the search engines as updated content. And back links, or links from other websites back to your article, are excellent ways to promote your writing which may increase your earnings.
4. Incorporate Affiliate Programs.
   
   If you don’t already use affiliate programs to make extra money, sign up for affiliate programs such as Amazon’s affiliate program. You can add links in your eHow articles that are embedded with your affiliate ID. When someone buys the book or other item from Amazon that they clicked through from your article, you receive a percentage.

Tips & Warnings

• To make extra money, write quality articles. Getting to 100 articles may seem important, but writing 10 good articles is better than 100 bad ones that are full of spelling and grammatical errors or that are simply fluff.
• Visit the eHow forums for helpful advice, but try to avoid getting sucked into the drama and spending time there that might be better used writing articles to make extra money.
